ATTRACTIONS
A narrow strip of land between the sea and the glassy waters of the salt works of Stato, the reclamation of which has been presided over by Pierluigi Vanvitelli (architect); there are many well-equipped beach clubs along the promenade that proved great animation during the summer months, where the modern Thermal Bath building can be found (for water therapy with bromide and iodide salts). Not to be missed, the Salt Museum, preserving a wide range of industrial archaeology exhibits, as well as the iconographic documentation regarding the collection and processing systems for salt. The church of S. Salvatore is also a must-see, built on the ruins of the ancient “Cappella Salinarum” and “Cappella Salinarum nomine Sancti Ruggieri”.
