The palazzo was built in the 15th century by the Frisari family and around the mid 18th century it passed on to the Tupputi family, who revamped it and beautified it.
Some of the most interesting features are the Numidia granite columns, which were taken from the Duomo of Giovinazzo in the 16th century.
Built with a fabulous diamond-point rustication, a typical finishing used by the local architecture, it acquired wrought-iron balconies on the upper floor in the year 1700.
In 1820 Palazzo Tupputi was host to the "Dieta delle Puglie" that is, a reunion of Pugliese carbonari activists with the aim of directing a common action to establish the Parthenopean Republic.
