Iliceto Palace, a massive 18th century palace, is the new base of the Civic Museum of Canosa di Puglia. Until the year 2005 it housed the Puppets Museum of Canosa, now, it hosts a rich repertoire of archaeological finds: from Daunian pottery to Bronzes (vases, belts, ornaments), Roman epigraphs, limestone and marble stone portraits of the ancient inhabitants of Canosa belonging to the Municipium and the Colony; numerous metal finds and lamps of the Christian and Medieval City. For the “Daunian” section set up, a thematic-chronological itinerary by the name “Tu in Daunios” has been created, with particular care for all those materials that highlight the history of the city from the archaic phase (VI century B.C.) to the II century B.C. Furthermore, it hosts the exhibition:

Epigraphic Collection (permanent):

“Tu in Daunios” from May 2007
“Il Dio con la folgore” (The God with the thunderbolt) from 18 May 2005 to April 2007: it is an archaeological show that presents itinerary and images of the sacred in Canusium, promoted by the Fondazione Archeologica Canosina.
The Puppets Museum: a very rich selection of 52 big characters made of beech, walnut and fir wood, with epoch clothes in silk, copper and German silver body armours representing Spanish aristocracy, armed Christians, Princesses and Saracens, Popes, Dukes and Cardinals.
