The Roman bridge raised on the course of Via Traina has permitted for many centuries the link between Canosa and the Daunia, making easier the crossing of the river Ofanto. It is situated at about 3 Km from the centre from the town and presents itself with its imposing humpback framework , standing on a very tested work of piling obtained from oak wood covered with concrete. It is articulated in five round arches, supported by huge cuspidal pillars. At the foot of the bridge there is a cement footbridge built during the second world war to let the track-laying vehicles cross.
It is attested by various documents, among which those kept in the State Archives of Foggia, that the bridge  has had in the course of the centuries, numerous interventions of maintenance and restaurations at the raised part, leaving the pillars, the back and the concrete bed untouched.
