The Faro is a monument that was erected in 1932 in honour of Fascism and its fallen members. It is 34 metres tall and incorporates within its structure the symbols of Fascism.
Mussolini himself contributed £ 10,000 for the construction which was entrusted to Fascist architect Aldo Forcignanò.
The first stone was laid on 28 October 1923 and the project was eventually finished nine years later and inaugurated on 29 June 1932, with the presence of Starace, the Secretary of the Fascist Party, who was representing Mussolini.
Among the thirty names of the fallen from Puglia, five were from Minervino. From the top of the building one can admire the marvellous landscape that goes from Gargano to the plains of the Vulture.
