The beautiful vineyards, often characteristically shaped “a tendone”, draw landscapes of great beauty. This area of Puglia remains one of the main wine and table grapes production zones. Among the D.O.C. wines produced on the territory, we can mention the ‘Rosso Barletta’, the ‘Rosso Canosa’, the ‘Castel Del Monte’ and the ‘Moscato di Trani’.
The DOC Castel del Monte is the Puglian wine with the largest number of preparations (9) using grapes from a wide variety of vines. All of these, however, are grown on land in the entire Minervino Murge municipal territory and part of the Andria, Corato, Trani, Ruvo, Terlizzi, Bitonto, Palo del Colle, Toritto and Binetto municipal territories...
This is a very well-known sweet wine recommended to accompany the region’s traditional desserts, especially the dry almond pastry, or to drink with fruit salad. It is made from grapes left to mature almost until they wither, with a minimum percentage of 85% coming from the Moscato bianco vine (which, in Puglia, is often called “Moscato di Trani” or “Moscato reale")...
This wine has been recognized since 1977. It can only be made from grapes grown in the entire municipal territory of Barletta, Trinitapoli and S. Ferdinando and parts of the Andria and Trani territories...
This wine is marketed in a single preparation: red. 65% of it comes from grapes from the “Uva di Troia” vine, grown exclusively in the Canosa territory. Rosso Canosa may also bear the title “Reserve” if aged for a minimum of two years, one of which is spent in wooden barrels, and has an alcoholic strength of at least 13%...
